Earthy Handmade Goodness by Guest Blogger Nancy L. Stockdale of Futurowoman Fotographie

I was lucky enough to discover and join Etsy only a few months after it debuted in 2005, and I've fallen in love with the world of handmade arts and crafts. Although I joined to sell my own photos, I quickly became a patron of all things handmade. Lately, I've been falling in love with all kinds of earthy creations from artists across the craft spectrum. Here are some of my current favorites highlighting the natural world.

These Grey & Gold Rooster Feather Earrings by new Etsian CoyotePheonix remind me sunsets in New Mexico and childhood memories of hot California summers. I've known this artist for many years, and I can tell you that she is amazingly talented!

I have a beautiful embroidery of lichen by Ottoman on my wall, and I think this one is so gorgeous, too! Plus, now that I embroider myself, I've come to appreciate Ottoman's vision even more for its uniqueness & quality.

I've been dying to try these honeys from PollenPrincesses. Growing up near San Francisco, I love the idea of urban honey and I always love to support initiatives to maintain our precious honeybee populations!

And speaking of bees, I adore this honeycomb clock by pilotdesign. I've been wanting to get it for my office for ages...perhaps I will soon!

It's so exciting to purchase handmade goods directly from their artists and makers. What is your favorite nature-inspired handmade item? I'd love to see what inspires you!

great post, Nancy! The earrings do remind me of growing up in the southwest as well and I love the honey & honeycomb. You're so humble, lol I thought you were going to showcase your photography. Readers-check out her store! :)
